A preview of Sunday’s FA Cup betweenLiverpool and Brighton from the Championship.
Liverpool may be unbeaten at home in the Premier League this season but 8 draws from 12 home league games has left the Anfield faithful more than a little frustrated.
Kenny Dalglish’s men started their FA Cup run with a 5-1 victory over Oldham and followed that up with an impressive 2-1 win over their recent conquerors Utd. Brighton are going along quite nicely during their first season in the Championship and currently sit in 8th place and just a point outside the playoff positions. Gus Poyet’s side are unbeaten in 2012 and come into this FA Cup 5th Round tie with nothing to lose.
Brighton won’t be easy opposition for Liverpool but this match against lower league opposition probably comes at just the right time for the Reds and I expect Gerrard and company to give the home fans a much needed boost.
