Liverpool are reportedly very close to finalising a £6m deal for Blackpool’s Tom Ince and expect that the deal will be completed in the next couple of days.
I am also hearing that AC Milan are the latest club to express an interest in Nuri Sahin who is on loan at Liverpool from Real Madrid. Borussia Dortmund and Inter are also keen on taking the midfielder, who has been a major disappointment, off Liverpool’s hands.
According to Ghana Sports Online, Liverpool and Chelsea are two of the clubs interested in the 23 year old right back, who can also play as a winger. The promising Ghanaian has fallen out of favour with manager Juande Ramos, and seems likely to leave. This is what his agent, Christian Emile, said about the situation a few days ago:
“Samuel is not happy with his situation at Dnipro, because it’s not acceptable for a player of his calibre. We are talking about a very talented young player who has represented Ghana more than 30 times. Clearly, the only solution for him now is to move to a European club where he can play an important role and succeed.”
The Metro report Liverpool’s interest in Lazio centre back Modibo Diakite ahead of a Bosman free-signing in the summer.
One rumour I find hard to believe is this one from Sky Sports that Stewart Downing is reportedly closing in on a return to Middlesbrough on a loan agreement. If he left on a loan, surely he would go to a Premier League side?
