Liverpool are obviously not amused with Luis Suarez’s comments this week about wanting to move to Real Madrid and have issued a statement that reads:
“Luis Suarez is not for sale – neither Luis or his representatives have communicated these feelings directly to LFC.
“The club remains supportive of Luis and expect him to honour his contract. We will not be making any further comment at this stage.”
The problem for Liverpool, that I see, is the low buy-out clause in his contract. If Madrid, or anyone, offer £40m for him, then Liverpool have to sell. The club has no power or leverage here in this situation.
