Liverpool are being strongly linked with a big money move for Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Armenian international scored an incredible 25 league goals last season playing in the number 10 role, behind the striker and that performance has put him on the radar of most of Europe’s biggest clubs.
But the Independent are reporting that Liverpool are confident of bring Mkhitaryan to Anfield despite no chance of European football next campaign.
The three-time Armenia player of the year was also a key player in Shakhtar’s march on the last-16 of the Champions League this season and scored two goals in Europe’s top club competition.
While not being an out-and-out striker like Suarez, it looks like Mkhitaryan would be perfect to play just behind Sturridge, like he did at Shakhtar.
