According to the Daily Mirror on Sunday, Manchester City have rejected an offer from Liverpool to swap Carlos Tevez for Andy Carroll.
According to the exclusive in the Mirror, Liverpool approached Man City’s Football Administration Officer Brian Marwood with the offer 48 hours ago, just hours after beating the Blues in the Carling Cup semi-final.
But City were not interested as while they are desperate to offload Tevez, City boss Roberto Mancini reportedly has no interest in signing Andy Carroll.
Interesting story that Liverpool’s approach came so recently, after they have seen Carroll have a regular run of games due to Suarez’s suspension. It would appear that Dalglish has decided that Carroll does not fit Liverpool’s style of play and that he needs a striker who is better on the ground to partner Suarez.
If the story is true, then I would fully expect Liverpool to sell Carroll in the summer.
And apparently City asked for Gerrard as part of the deal as well!!! Since there have been no quotes, other than Liverpool FC denying the rumour, we belive it’s complete rubbish.
