Dalglish: Cardiff Deserve Maximum Respect
Kenny Dalglish on Tuesday stressed the importance of showing Cardiff City maximum respect in Sunday's Carling Cup final if Liverpool are to avoid joining history's list of beaten favourites. Dalglish was in charge when Liverpool lost the 1988 FA Cup final to Wimbledon at Wembley and he does not want a repeat of that day. The Liverpool boss told his … [Read More...]

Bellamy: I won’t celebrate if I score at Wembley
Craig Bellamy has been declared fit to attempt to win a first senior honour in English football in his "dream final". But even if the Liverpool striker fulfils his lifelong ambition of scoring at Wembley he won’t celebrate the goal, because it will be against his first football love, Cardiff City. And even though he has yet to win an English trophy, … [Read More...]

Liverpool Tear Brighton Apart
It was the sort of home display that Liverpool fans have been waiting to see all season as the reds put six past Brighton to move into the FA Cup quarter-finals. This was a terrific Liverpool performance and it started up-front by the big man Andy Carroll. Scored one, laid on one and his presence resulted in two other Liverpool goals. It was by far … [Read More...]

Kenny Dalglish believes success in cup competitions this season is proof of how the club is progressing. Maxi Rodriguez Back For Brighton Match
Good chance that we will see fit again Maxi Rodriguez this weekend against Brighton. Rodriguez has not played since the fourth round victory over Manchester United almost three weeks ago due to a foot injury. But having received an international call-up from Argentina this week, Maxi is now also back in contention for Liverpool. The winger has started … [Read More...]

Liverpool Tear Brighton Apart
February 20, 2012 By David 1 Comment
It was the sort of home display that Liverpool fans have been waiting to see all season as the reds put six past Brighton to move into the FA Cup quarter-finals.
This was a terrific Liverpool performance and it started up-front by the big man Andy Carroll. Scored one, laid on one and his presence resulted in two other Liverpool goals. It was by far Carroll’s best performance in a Liverpool shirt. And part of the reason was that Liverpool varied the balls into him. Instead of the big ball down the middle, Downing was knocking balls to the near and far post from the left, and Gerrard knocked in some good crosses also from the right. The varied attack kept the Brighton defense off-balance as they did not know where Carroll was going next.

No Player Is Bigger Than Liverpool FC
February 12, 2012 By David 3 Comments
Was sickened to my stomach by the antics of Luis Suarez yesterday at Old Trafford. The not shaking Evra’s hand and the kicking of the ball at half-time were petulant actions.
Liverpool FC is the most successful team in England. It is one of the biggest clubs in the world but Suarez (and to some degree Dalglish’s) actions are tarnishing the club that Shankly built.
I cannot help but compare the “me attitude” of Suarez with that of Liverpool legend Tommy Smith who announced this past week that he was selling all the medals from his glittering Liverpool career including his European Cup winners medal.

Dalglish Reopens Suarez Debate
February 7, 2012 By David 2 Comments
Sometimes Kenny Dalglish makes me shake my head in disbelief and this is one of those times. Luis Suarez played his first game since returning from his 8-match ban and instead of letting it go, Dalglish reopened the Suarez debate by saying:
“We don’t think he should ever have been away but we are delighted to get him back,” said the Liverpool boss. “He has not played since December, so it was a wee bit unfair to throw him straight in. He has had half an hour and that will have done him the world of good. It is better than anything we could have done at Melwood.”

Dalglish: Cardiff Deserve Maximum Respect

Kenny Dalglish on Tuesday stressed the importance of showing Cardiff City maximum respect in Sunday’s Carling Cup final if Liverpool are to avoid joining history’s list of beaten favourites.
Dalglish was in charge when Liverpool lost the 1988 FA Cup final to Wimbledon at Wembley and he does not want a repeat of that day.
The Liverpool boss told his pre-match press conference:
“Everybody that’s involved with the football club will take great satisfaction (in playing the final), but it’s not a foregone conclusion – and we should not be getting our mindset thinking it is going to be like that.

Dalglish Happy To See Big Three Playing Together
February 20, 2012 By David Leave a Comment
The Brighton match was the first time this season that Carroll, Gerrard and Suarez had started together and that was something that really pleased Kenny Dalglish:
“The three of them are fantastic footballers and they played really well today,” said Dalglish. “The more any team gets iconic players like they are on the pitch the better chance they have of being successful. But we have got more than three players. The fact we have done as well as we have and that was the first time the three of them have started a match tells you how well the other boys have done. We will stand and be counted as a squad and I don’t think we have done too badly this year.”

“The players deserve every credit. They’ve had a relatively successful season, they’ve put themselves in a good position.
