Liverpool will turn their sights on Celtic defender Emilio Izaguirre after having a £4million bid for Newcastle United defender Jose Enrique rejected.
Red’s manager Kenny Dalglish has had a left-back high on his list of priorities since returning to the club in January.
His offer for Enrique was turned down by Toon Army boss Alan Pardew as it falls short of their valuation for the player, who they believe is worth closer to £15million.

Liverpool have had a £4million offer for Newcastle United defender Jose Enrique rejected by the Tyneside club.
The Daily Mirror reports Reds’ manager Kenny Dalglish is a big fan of the 25-year-old and will make an improved offer.
The Scot has had a left-back high on his list of priorities since returning to the club in January but Newcastle view the offer as way too low and value the Spaniard at closer to £15million.

Birmingham City winger Sebastian Larsson has left the club on a free and is now the target of Newcastle United and Liverpool.
The 25-year-old’s contract has expired at St Andrew’s and he is free to talk to other clubs over a move.
The Sweden international held unsuccessful talks with manager Alex Mcleish but no deal could be agreed.
Larsson came close to signing for Newcastle in January after handing in a transfer request but Birmingham decided to keep the wide-man until the end of the season.
