Neven Subotic (Borussia Dortmund) – age: 22; defender
A tall, composed and graceful defender with solid distribution from the back. The Serbian controlled and marshalled the Dortmund defence in their title winning drive last season. A £15million price tag will not put off Arsenal or Manchester City, but Dortmund are unlikely to sell.

Udinese defender Cristian Zapata has revealed he is on the verge of signing for Liverpool in a £9million deal.
The 24-year-old is one of Serie A’s best defenders and played a crucial role in leading his team into the Champions League.
The Colombia international has two-years left on his current deal and has played for Udinese for six years since arriving from Deportivo Cali back in 2005.
He can play at centre-half or full-back and has attracted strong interest from Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich.

25. Ralf Rangnick (Schalke)
He may have only taken over the role in March but steered the club away from relegation and into a Champions League semi-final. Despite losing to Manchester United they did eliminate the holders Inter Milan.
